2022 marked a turning point in Russia's economic development. The departure of Western corporations created unique conditions for the country's entrepreneurs to establish and strengthen their own production facilities. In the summer of 2022, top managers of a major industrial company, which produces in-demand measuring instruments for the oil and gas industry, approached the firm seeking consultation on a fair acquisition of assets from a foreign owner.2022 – 2023

In 2018, a client of the company, a large private equity fund with a number of diversified assets in Russia, faced a choice: to continue managing and owning assets from abroad based on English-law governed documentation or to relocate management and update the transaction documentation based on novelties introduced into the Civil Code of the Russian Federation allowing for a legal regime similar to that existing under English law. A decision was made to kick start the redomiciliation process with respect to two assets - a port in the Far East and a coal mine in Eastern Siberia. The task was non-trivial - it involved more than 20 transactional documents and their approval among project partners, one of which included a large corporation.2017 – 2020

In the early 2010s, a client - an independent oil company that had been dynamically developing for over twenty years - conducted laboratory research and discovered ethane in its extracted oil in volumes sufficient for its industrial use in the petrochemical industry. The idea of commercial development of associated gas for the construction of an ethylene and polyethylene production plant was born. By the beginning of 2018, it was decided to organize a tender to select a leading internationally recognized contractor to enter into a contract with the winning participant for engineering, manufacture and supply of production equipment and commissioning work.2018 - 2019

At the end of July 2017, Andrei Danilov, the firm’s managing partner, returned from vacation and found himself in the midst of unexpected events. A former colleague approached the firm for legal advice with a request to help a group of applied mathematicians from South Africa conduct an ICO - a public offering of cryptocurrency on the international market. At that time, our company had limited legal expertise in the field of blockchain having only participated in a few crowdfunding projects before. Two months later, the firm was one of the few in the world (this is not a typo) with expertise in ICO, having essentially developed a template for a white paper widely used since then in the market.2017

DP’s Engagement Our firm was engaged in May 2014, merely days after its inception, with just two partners in the new office and a newly hired junior lawyer from K&L Gates.
